This restaurant has been open since 1938, when Umberto Pierluigi unveiled the space on the charming Piazza de Ricci to much fanfare. Though it was taken over by Roberto Lisi 1980, it remains a staple in the Eternal City. It feels a little more high-end than your average trattoria, with its selection of turnip greens, cuttlefish ragù, and raw fish. Over the years, it’s been a stomping ground for the likes of George Clooney, Sean Penn, Priyanka Chopra, and Colin Firth. Sit in the square and watch famous patrons as they drift in and out. —Ludovico Bonaccorsi
