In all the many minutes since we last considered the plight of Fergie, she is reported to have been spending her time in reflection. This seems unlikely but we’ll let it pass. If Sarah Ferguson had the capacity for reflection she wouldn’t be in the mess that she is now: on the run across Europe, from a freebie Swiss clinic to an Irish hotel and, now, a $2,700-a-night chalet in Austria, paid for with goodness knows what, and using burner phones to avoid detection.
What might strike fear into the hearts of the royal family, though, is not the prospect of Fergie thinking, but her talking. The disgraced former duchess, who called a pedophile her “supreme friend” because he was rich, is apparently fielding offers to do a TV interview, perhaps after reflecting on how well that went for her ex-husband.
