This week, Pope Leo left Paris, which he’d taken by storm—drawing 800,000 people to an open-air Mass at the Place de le Concorde—and his departure finally cleared some space for news from other corners of the globe. Although we’re still waiting for Donald Trump, as unpopular as Leo is popular, to complain about how the Pope’s skimpy gathering represented a mere fraction of the crowds he routinely attracts to his open-air Masses.
