The Pants

Acne Studios

We’ll have what they’re having. The design team over at Acne Studios must have spent lockdown perfecting their pants program, because after a very long try-on session at the brand’s new (temporary) boutique, in SoHo, we can assure you that the fit has never been better. Our current favorite: these high-rise, cotton-canvas trousers. They’re suit-y by nature, but the front pockets and ever so slightly bootcut hem ensure that they don’t look excessively corporate. Yes, there is a coordinating 70s-esque leisure jacket, but we can take it or leave it. ($510, matchesfashion.com)

The Skin-Care Regimen

Tom Ford

If you’ve ever seen Tom Ford in the flesh, you already know that he glows, proving the man’s prowess in the skin-care realm. And now we are glowing, too, after just two weeks of religiously using the latest products from the Tom Ford Research collection. Developing it for all skin types, Ford worked with a team of top-notch scientists to create results-driven formulas that reduce lines and wrinkles, recharge the skin, and give it a smooth, nourished appearance. The Serum Concentrate, in particular, works wonders. Infused with porcelain cacao, caffeine, and gyokuro, a shaded green tea from Japan, it immediately tightens and lifts the skin. The Dress

Christopher Kane

It’s expensive and not especially practical but, thanks to an excessively comfy coronavirus year, entirely justified. The designer Christopher Kane is a reliable purveyor of statement dresses that receive raves from just about everyone. For spring, Kane has further indulged his artistic side and turned an Impressionist floral painting that he made last summer into a spectacular, 50s-style gown, finished with ribbon straps. Buy now, keep forever, and in a few decades’ time look back on it fondly, remembering all the good times you experienced when you finally re-discovered the joys of a social life. The Shoes

Bottega Veneta

If you can resist the charms of “New Bottega” under creative director Daniel Lee, congratulations. We are not among your ranks. And while we’ve tried to buy sparingly (in the interest of saving for retirement), we are powerless to these intrecciato-weave raffia mules. They’re incredibly flattering to the foot—square-toed, high-heeled, and featuring a pretty shade of lavender. Just the thing to ensure that we put our best foot forward as we step out into society.
