Winter, as everyone from Fauci to the C.D.C. tells us, is coming. Which is why we keep thinking about this chunky, oversize scarf from the team at Paris-based Officine Générale. Think of it as your essential accessory if you are going to be partaking over the next few months in New York’s latest cultural trend—dining Paris-style, à la terrasse. Yes, it’ll keep you warm and give you a dash of French attitude, but it also offers enough bulk to double as a face covering, in a pinch. ($425, mrporter.com)
Designer Marcia Patmos is a master of the art of the all-weather knit. Now that we’ve entered into one long slog of cold, a robust sweater collection is in order, and the perfect weekend edition comes courtesy of this Kane cropped pullover. Knit from an alpaca blend, it’s jazzed up with graphic dash stitches, which are especially striking against this navy. (For a more tonal look, the honey version is just as appealing.) We’ll try to relegate this to hiking and lounging around on Saturdays, paired with stone-colored, straight-leg denim, but with looks this good, don’t expect us to keep our promises. Tiffany & Co.
Just in time for the holiday gift rush, Tiffany & Co. has mined the archives, so to speak, and revived a collection of one-of-a-kind and limited-edition designs curated and sourced by Elsa Peretti herself. There’s a new version of the Bone Cuff, inlaid with cabochons, but in these Zoom-y times, necklaces are top of mind, and this Mesh Scarf necklace is as spectacular and versatile as they come. It drapes beautifully over the collarbone, and will look charming with everyday wear, such as a crewneck sweater or a crisp button-up. When paired with a strapless gown or sheath for evening, it’s destined to be the most elegant thing in any room. ($17,000; tiffany.com)
An entire skin-care regime pared down to just three products? Some said it could be done, but we were skeptical—until, in a fit of election-induced inflammation, we changed up our drill to Vintner’s Daughter’s one-two punch that die-hard product-philes have been raving about for months. We start by delicately patting on the Napa-based brand’s new Active Treatment essence, which is formulated with more than 30 distilled, natural ingredients (including hyaluronic acid and vitamin C), and finish with the Active Botanical Serum, which oxygenates and battles damage caused by free radicals. We’ve been doing this lean, mean routine twice a day, plus sunscreen in the morning, and after just two weeks we looked more refreshed and luminous than should be legally allowed for a harried over-consumer of news whose new wake-up time is apparently four a.m. A skin-care diet, it turns out, is one we can get behind.
