Angela Missoni’s joyful approach to life is most obvious in her work for Missoni, the fashion brand founded by her parents, Rosita and Ottavio “Tai” Missoni, in 1953. Initially known for its zigzag knits, Missoni’s Technicolor creations now include products ranging from quirky bedding to shimmering eveningwear, all very luxurious but unmistakably bohemian as well. The Missoni mode of living plays out most beautifully on the family compound on the craggy, northeastern coast of Sardinia, where Angela spends the summer vacation along with her three children—Margherita, Teresa, and Francesco—and assorted extended-family members. “As long as the children are happy, nothing else matters,” she has said. No wonder she seems to have such a firm grasp on the good life …
