Last month, Disney’s ABC canceled the upcoming season of The Bachelorette just days before its scheduled premiere after TMZ published a video of its star, Taylor Frankie Paul, physically attacking her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, in February of 2023. Paul, who, alongside Mortensen, rose to fame for starring in Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault in August of 2023. Filming for Season Five of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has halted amid revelations that a domestic-assault investigation into the pair is ongoing.
