There was no shortage of interesting moments—or people—at the Hotel Chelsea on Tuesday night, when Graydon Carter and Linda Wells hosted a cocktail party to toast the launch of Air Mail Look. Our new monthly magazine celebrates and investigates the worlds of beauty and wellness, and representatives from both worlds (among others) gathered in both friendship and gossip.
Among the revelers: fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez, also known for his hit eponymous fragrance; hairstylist to the stars Garren; Batsheva designer and Laura Ashley collaborator Batsheva Hay; always on-camera Derek Blasberg, who came with Dasha Zhukova; pandemic savior Isaac Boots; Jeff and Lisa Bewkes; Jessica Diehl; Victor Garber; and Louise Grunwald.
And then there were the Air Mail Look editors at large: dewy-faced George Hahn (fun fact: the humorist and writer was once a “patient concierge” for Dr. Rob Anolik), sex enthusiast Jill Kargman, and @thepouf creator (and Air Mail Look social-media director) Christina Grasso.
Even though alcohol is generally frowned upon (officially) by the wellness establishment, we didn’t let that stop us from frequenting the bar. (The popular Eye of the Beholder cocktail contained tequila and sherry, but, hey, at least there was grapefruit.)
Before the crowd spilled out onto 23rd Street, we invited them to pop by the piano, apply lipstick (a new shade of the season, thanks to Estée Lauder), and leave us a little something to remember them by. Right back atcha.
