Extracting color, texture, design, and the dynamic movement of a figure from a sea of publicity photos is an homage to the vibe of a fashion designer. (Here, Thom Browne’s spring 2023 reimagining of the classic “Cinderella” fairy tale.) I work in watercolor with quill and brush, allowing the negative space of the unpainted paper to act as light.
