Last summer, when the bars in Manhattan were nearly nonexistent, I found that the best way to waste a Saturday night was with a six of something from the deli and a wide stoop to sit on. My preferred was in the East Village, a Spanish Steps–size swath of concrete stairs with enough room to practice your electric slide till four in the morning. Even if the bars are back this summer, keep your ear out for these tunes on the sidewalk. You’ll know where to find me.
