The Knit Polo

Canali

Gentlemen, we know you too well. At the first signs of summer you start trotting out the polo shirts with abandon. But before things get too casual, let’s try an ever so slightly dressier knit version. Canali has mastered this art, as evidenced by this waffle-stitched style. With a finely ribbed, contrasting collar, it earns style points without overpowering an outfit. Finish with a body-skimming (but not excessively trim) jacket or blazer, and step into post-pandemic life with panache. ($520, mrporter.com)

The Nightgown

Dazed but Amazed

All the way across the world, in a small atelier in Australia, a designer named Jes Saddington specializes in custom-woven-linen pieces that seem—in the best possible way—like something you swiped from your grandmother’s lingerie drawer. The just-launched French Heritage Slip dress is a reimagining of a turn-of-the-century gown, with two modern adjustments: a dropped armhole and the addition of pockets. Made to order for deliveries this month, it works marvelously as a day dress, complete with an internal drawstring to give it a bit of shape around the neckline, but it beautifies one’s evening routine as well. It can also be embroidered with a meaningful initial, which we recommend you do. ($116, dazedbutamazed.com)

The Sunscreen

Dr. Gerald Imber’s Youth Corridor

The freshest faces on the Upper East Side (and far beyond) owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Gerald Imber. The plastic surgeon extraordinaire will never reveal his secrets—or the names of his clients—but he will wax poetic on the benefits of an effective, nourishing sunscreen. Now, after months (possibly years) of perfecting it, he has debuted Soothe & Defend S.P.F. 30, a moisture-rich formula that keeps the skin supple and hydrated while also providing broad-spectrum protection against the sun. It’s emollient, well-priced, and a perfect primer for makeup. ($37, youthcorridor.com)

The Collab

Schumacher x Margaux

The New York–based footwear brand Margaux launched with the aim of improving fit and comfort for shoe-lovers of all persuasions. (Their size-inclusive range stretches from U.S. 3 to 14, along with several concierge options for finding your perfect fit. Each style is also offered in three widths, and all come with plush foam padding sewn into the sole.) This week, the brand launched a limited-edition collection of sandals, flats, mules, and sneakers with fabric house Schumacher. Although charmed by the floral-print ballet flats, we’re most taken by the mules, which feature a grosgrain bow in Schumacher’s Campagne design. ($238, margauxny.com)
