The Jacket

Acne Studios

Lately, window-shopping in New York is not terrifically exciting—unless one passes by the Acne Studios flagship store on Madison Avenue. Seemingly designed with that work-from-home life in mind, it’s awash in cozy, pastel layers offset with the occasional bit of tailoring. No need to buy the speedy sweatshirts, although the colors are tempting. Instead, invest in this smart trucker jacket that’s been reimagined in elegant cotton-blend tweed. It’s the kind of thing that will update dozens of previously existing looks—jeans and a turtleneck, a button-up blouse and slim pencil skirt, even a floor-grazing chiffon dress left over from that bohemian phase. ($800, net-a-porter.com)

The Bag

Balenciaga Neo Classic

We’ve tried to resist Balenciaga’s Neo Classic collection for months—after all, lockdown hasn’t exactly required us to trot out the finery. But enough is enough. This beauty, released to honor the 20th anniversary of the brand’s handbag launch, is a riff on some of its most celebrated styles. Rolled handles for comfort, sufficient space for necessities and a paperback, as well as a handy exterior pocket—it’s got it all. And it’s imbued with nostalgia for that time, two decades ago, when the very first Balenciaga bag arrived in one’s collection. ($2,290; saksfifthavenue.com)

The Ring

Hotscripts

While Solange Azagury-Partridge, a British jewelry designer, once dealt mostly in high-value gemstones, her Hotscripts collection, made of sterling silver and lacquer, offers accessories that are as affordable as they are stylish. We like the Lover ring in classic red as a gift for a special someone, but if you’re buying for yourself, why not try Minx in yellow, or Lady in hot pink? ($242, hotlipsbysolange.co.uk)

The Robe

Skin

In the mood to stay in bed a bit longer than usual? These days, who can blame you? But getting ready is much more pleasant with this robe from Skin. Made of cotton jersey, its quilted fabric is slightly padded to mimic the feeling of one’s favorite comforter—like getting out of bed without leaving the bed. Or it’s like getting up and wearing your bed to work. The belt gives it some shape, while oversize patch pockets add utility. If you put it back on between Zoom meetings, we won’t judge. A note: pre-order from the next drop—this style sells out quickly. ($200, matchesfashion.com)
