There are few things worse than becoming inured to the magical powers of a song. How quickly we disc junkies go from playing our treasured tunes on repeat to feeling sick at the sound of their opening notes, jaded and no longer under that golden spell of melody and rhythm.
The only solution for too much of a good thing? Recess (incidentally, what a fun word). In the King household, we took a break from the below tracks—previously considered overplayed—and were delighted to find them satisfyingly fresh after time away. Put another way, some grooves never really wear out.
