British fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner is only 28, but she has been creating her own celebrated collection for the past six years. She started with men’s wear, so it’s no coincidence that her women’s wear features spot-on tailoring. We live in her jackets most of the year, but in the summer this pointelle-knit cotton polo is our M.V.P. (Most Valuable Piece). The longish sleeves, tipped collar, and contrast stitching point up the inspiration behind her spring ’20 collection—Cuba during the 40s and 50s. ($319, net-a-porter.com)
The Candle
Krigler
After 78 days of lockdown, it feels like we’ve tried every candle on the market—which explains why we’re overly excited by the latest release from Krigler. The origin story of the Villa Bordighera 20 Opus Sol dates back to 1920, when the Italian playwright Giuseppe Adami asked perfumer Albert Krigler to create a scent reminiscent of his favorite seaside town of Bordighera, Italy. Krigler took the village’s lemon trees as his inspiration, using them as the base, and added Sicilian bergamot, Indian Kashmir wood, and Argentinean grapefruit blossom. The result is transportive. In an alternative universe, we’d endorse this as a hostess gift, but let’s be real—chances are you’re not going anywhere. At least this candle will make home a bit more pleasurable. The Ensemble
Paco Rabanne
It’s only the third week in June, and yet we’re already growing weary of caftan-centric summer dressing. This 70s-inspired ensemble from Paco Rabanne feels so much fresher. The top and skirt appear to have a wrap closure, but it’s only a clever illusion, meaning that it won’t fly open at inopportune moments. Made of a breezy stretch jersey, it will pack beautifully—and we know that at least some of you are going somewhere. (Top, $620, net-a-porter.com; skirt, $720, net-a-porter.com)
The Carryall
Marina Raphael
Effortlessly stylish, with its dark tortoise-trimmed hardware and textured woven panels, the Riviera from Marina Raphael is set to become a new summer staple. But the best part about it is what you don’t see. The top of the bag is concealed with the same caramel-colored leather as the exterior and secured with a Swarovski-enhanced zipper. It’s a touch that should come as little surprise to those in the know as the brand’s young designer is part of the Swarovski family. And stashed in the buttery-soft interior is a small leather strap, allowing you to transform the bag into a crossbody. ($1,163; marinaraphael.com)
