The Earrings

Sophie Buhai

Sophie Buhai first dressed us beautifully with the New York–based ready-to-wear line Vena Cava. Her second act, as a Los Angeleno and jewelry-and-accessories designer, is equally inspired. We speak from experience when we say that these architectural pieces, designed to be worn daily, make wonderful gifts, especially for stylish-mother types. It’s impossible to go wrong with the Pearl Francis earrings, which feature baroque pearl drops and are finished in either silver or gold. Exceptionally versatile, they can both dress up a button-up and put a modern spin on cocktail attire. (silver, $650; gold, $750; sophiebuhai.com)

The Cream

Chantecaille

Until now, we’d been suspicious of CBD’s usefulness in skin-care products, but leave it to the good people at Chantecaille to change our minds, introducing us to face-and-body cream infused with calming, bloat-banishing cannabidiol when we need it most—lockdown times have left us puffier than usual. The antioxidant-filled and phytonutrient-rich formulation quickly and masterfully calms down inflamed and irritated skin. It’s also so nourishing that the mere act of applying it feels like self-care. If only it came in a container the size of a paint can … ($125, bluemercury.com)

The Pareo

Hermès

For those who are well versed in Hermès scarves and already have a heap of the brand’s beach towels for summer, meet the Pareo, a cotton scarf-sarong hybrid that offers the best of both worlds. The flamingo Nakuru print is made of 11 individual screens to achieve richly layered graphics. It’s beautiful enough to hang in a living room, so imagine its effect when artfully tied around the waist or draped over the neck and worn on the beach. ($580, hermes.com)

The Sweater

La Ligne

The clever brand La Ligne, from editors turned designers Meredith Melling and Valerie Macaulay, along with Rag & Bone vet Molly Howard, specializes in the stripe. Many are loyal to their relaxed sweaters, and we are not immune. We’re especially taken with the new Mini Marin style, made of seven-ply wool cashmere. Slightly shrunken and just a bit cropped, it’s an ideal warm-weather take on the style, and it comes in an array of different color combinations. Our favorite—for now—is heather gray with blue stripes, but you really can’t go wrong. ($250, lalignenyc.com)
