“In 1995, the gold-domed cupola atop the Sohmer Piano Building (to the right) was my first N.Y.C. art studio. From that tiny, octagonal room I found myself painting the Flatiron Building over and over again. Drawing it now feels like I’m visiting with an old, beautiful neighbor.”
