The Jacket

Stand Studio

Scandi brand Stand Studio specializes in some of the very best faux shearlings around, and thanks to their inventive fabrics, there’s never been a better time to make an animal-friendly choice in outerwear. This boxy Hazel jacket is best considered as a wearable blanket, letting you transition from fall to winter with ease and panache. Although a similar style also comes in camel, resist the urge to choose a quote-unquote neutral shade—this sumptuous olive green is just as versatile and so much more fun. ($500, net-a-porter.com)

The Slippers

Olivia Morris

London-based designer Olivia Morris is equally passionate about fashion and interiors, and the amalgamation of those loves manifests in her inspired collection of house shoes. Hand-made in Spain, in very small quantities (so don’t hesitate), the brocade slip-ons nod to the colors and decorations found in her home in St. Leonards–on–Sea. Her signature style is the Daphne, which features a lightweight cork wedge, memory-foam footbed, and luxurious velvet lining. For the moment, we’re gaga for the cornflower-blue shade, but the limited-edition prints and taffeta options are just as charming. ($316, oliviamorrisathome.com)

The Sweater

Remain Birger Christensen

In previous lives, we’ve relied on designer Denise Christensen for 80s-rific party dresses. But her fall ’20 collection is focused on stylish knitwear, and this Diana sweater is irresistible. Made of a blended cotton and cable-knit into an argyle pattern, it’s a few steps above basic, and elevates everything from jeans and chinos to tweed pants and silk skirts. The fresh shade of frost blue will add a touch of optimism to even the darkest days of winter. ($285, net-a-porter.com)

The Bag

Tom Ford

Despite our best efforts to refrain from buying new fall handbags, we’ve been foiled by Tom Ford. Do we need another tote? Technically, no, but this slouchy Alix shoulder bag is just the kind of piece that gets the heart pounding while also making for a sound investment. Spacious enough to carry a laptop, a yoga outfit, and a novel, its sleek, gusseted shape ensures that it will always look polished. Bonus points for the secure padlock and molded handle.
