L’Abbaye looks like the hôtel particulier of a traditional Frenchman and his dotty English wife—18th-century elegance loosened up with floral wallpaper, books, and strewn pillows. Breakfast is served on a glassed-in terrace overlooking a charming courtyard garden. Bedrooms are pretty and small, but there is one duplex suite with its own garden and bedroom terrace that is paradise. The hotel’s location is inspired: near the Eglise Saint Sulpice, a magnificent 17th-century church, and next door to an excellent and fun Italian restaurant, Pizza Chic. —Alessandra Stanley
