The name Giacometti inevitably calls to mind the stringy figures of the Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti. Less well known, however, are family members who were also active and talented artists: his father, Giovanni; his father’s cousin Augusto; and his brothers Diego and Bruno. Originating from the village of Stampa, the Giacometti family engaged in various mediums—from painting to architecture—and formed an influential artistic dynasty. Bringing together sculptures, drawings, and archival materials, this exhibition connects the histories of these five Giacometti. —Sabina Vitale
