Couleurs! The Centre Pompidou's Masterpieces

Vassily Kandinsky, Bleu du ciel, 1940.

10 Av. Princesse Grace, 98000 Monaco

The Centre Pompidou closes for renovations in September 2025, though works from its collection will remain on view in traveling exhibitions. And where better to catch some of these masterpieces than on the Monegasque coast? On display are more than 100 works by artists such as Basquiat and Sonia Delaunay, Modigliani and Kandinsky. There’s also a full section devoted to design, which includes pieces by Ron Arad, Jean Prouvé, and Ettore Sottsass. The theme is color, fitting for a show set against such a dazzling backdrop. “Color!” said Paul Gauguin. “What a deep and mysterious language, the language of dreams.” —Elena Clavarino
