The Maritime Hotel

A room at the Maritime.

363 W 16th St, New York, NY 10011, United States

In our opinion, this is the best hotel in the city and a true home away from home. The International Style building was designed by Albert C. Ledner as the headquarters for the National Maritime Union in 1966. We love that the rooms are all designed in the same functional style and use the Josef Frank Manhattan upholstery, which Frank designed while he was a visiting professor at the New School just nearby—and where we first met at school! You can still purchase the textile through Svenskt Tenn. —Julian Taffel and Paolina Leccese
