If you want to sip a martini amidst some history, there’s no place quite as romantic as the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Terminal, on East 42nd Street. It’s one of Manhattan’s oldest establishments—the train station opened more than a century ago, on February 2, 1913, and the bar followed suit three weeks later. The 440-seater has everything you’d expect from an East Coast oyster spot—red-and-white-checkered tablecloths, loose cutlery, and dirty martinis on tap. The added bonus is observing travelers as they come and go. —Elena Clavarino
