Bar Basso

The cocktail bar at Bar Basso.

Via Plinio, 39, 20133 Milano MI, Italy

This is the place to be during all the fashion weeks, as well as Milan Design Week (“Salone” for the locals). Maurizio Stocchetto, the owner, invented the Negroni Sbagliato, their now-iconic drink, which subsitutes the gin in a regular Negroni for prosecco. In the 1950s, the bar was a meeting point for artists, writers, journalists, and gangsters. It still is—minus the gangsters. We always come for a celebratory drink after our production meetings in Milan. —Julian Taffel and Paolina Leccese
