The Treasure House Fair is held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea during the height of London’s summer season. Over the past four years, this art and antiques fair has brought together many of the world’s leading dealers, who specialize in antiquities to contemporary art. This year’s edition comes with a particularly timely hook. Marking the 90th anniversary of the landmark International Surrealist Exhibition, which opened at the New Burlington Galleries in June 1936, the fair is presenting a selection of Surrealist works from the permanent collection of Southampton City Art Gallery. Paintings by Roland Penrose, Paul Nash, Eileen Agar, Ithell Colquhoun, and Edith Rimmington—many not publicly displayed in years—will be on view. Also featured is the original catalogue from the 1936 exhibition. Designed by Max Ernst and sold for sixpence at the time, it’s now a collectible object in its own right. —Elena Clavarino
