“Find me that piece of paper I had in my hand yesterday morning,” demands the devilishly exacting editor Miranda Priestly in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada. Brilliantly portrayed by Meryl Streep, the role of Miranda—with its icy rebukes and deadpan delivery—has become a pop culture staple. Now a musical adaptation of the movie has taken the stage. With an original score by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, and a book by Kate Wetherhead, the show stars Vanessa Williams as Priestly. Georgie Buckland makes her West End debut as Andy Sachs, the naïve and unstylish newbie who steps into the world of high fashion as Priestly’s assistant. Jerry Mitchell directs. That’s all. —Jeanne Malle
