The Columbian artist María Berrío uses papers from South America and Japan to create vibrant, large-scale collages that evoke myths, fairy tales, and dreams in a magical-realist style. Her subjects are usually women, moon pale, indomitable in spirit. They inhabit ethereal landscapes and modest interiors, often wearing solemn expressions.
