Imagine this: you’re in a dream, in your pajamas, you walk into a room that is painted to look like a huge expanse of sky, and in the center of the room is a box of matches the size of a small child. The South Korean artist JeeYoung Lee works in such dreamscapes. She builds installations that function as tiny universes, where walls covered in bubble wrap can give off the vibe of a surreal reverie. Her latest installation, Maiden Voyage, will turn London’s NOW gallery into a forest of gingko leaves that evoke the artist’s childhood and heritage, and offers a much needed respite from the mundane. —Sophie Kemp
