Historic Works from the Margulies Collection, 1930's–1970's

Andy Warhol, Set of Five Boxes: Brillo Soap Pads; Campbell’s Tomato Juice; Del Monte Peach Halves; Heinz Tomato Ketchup; Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, 1964.

The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse, a 50,000-square-foot museum in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, is home to one of the greatest private art collections in the world. And just in time for this year’s Miami Art Basel, the museum has unveiled a never-before-seen series of historic pieces from the Abstract Expressionist and Pop art movements. Featuring works on paper and sculptures from Willem de Kooning, Roy Lichtenstein, Joan Miró, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, and many more, the show traces the evolution of the 1950s and 60s New York School, its role in shifting the global capital of the postwar art world from Paris to Manhattan, and the subsequent explosion of Pop. A trip to Miami Art Basel won’t be complete without a visit to this revolutionary collection. —Lucy Horowitz
