The granddaughter of Pablo Picasso and his model Marie-Thérèse Walter never actually met Pablo, but art courses through her veins. Widmaier Picasso studied art history at the Sorbonne and worked with old masters at Sotheby’s before devoting herself to her pedigree. In 2019, she released Picasso: The Impossible Collection with Assouline. She’s written essays and curated several major exhibitions of her grandfather’s work with galleries including Gagosian and Galleria Borghese. Widmaier Picasso also co-founded Menē, a collection of 24-karat-gold jewelry that has collaborated with Louise Bourgeois’s estate, photographers Inez & Vinoodh, and Dover Street Market. Here, a few of Widmaier Picasso’s favorite things.
