Chez Dede is the Rome-based collection by Daria Reina and Andrea Ferolla, whose witty, enchanting illustrations bring to life a second edition of exclusive Chez Dede x Air Mail silk scarves. Produced in Como, Italy, this “Enfants Terribles” series imagines well-known artists, including Maria Callas, Josephine Baker, Christian Dior, and Jean Cocteau, as children. Each colorful vignette depicts its subject as a precocious youth preparing for greatness. Cases in point: Callas singing for her stuffed animals and Baker peacocking with her cat, a precursor to Chiquita, her pet cheetah
Collaborations
Marfa Stance
Separated by an ocean but working with a singular vision, the respective design teams combined the aesthetics of AIR MAIL and the London fashion label. Crafted from carefully and responsibly sourced, up-cycled materials, these transitional pieces sacrifice nothing in quality. The novel result - durable, versatile, season-spanning - is a graceful embodiment of progressive thinking and timeless style.
Chatham
Designed in collaboration with the American textile brand Chatham, which has been crafting the finest woolens since 1877, this adult-sized baby blanket takes its cues from the swaddle newborns are wrapped in. Both durable and soft, its striped, cashmere-wool blend provides people of all ages with the comfort today’s travails demand—not to mention an eye-pleasing accent for any living space.
Métier
We at AIR MAIL strive to keep our affairs in exemplary order, so it is only fitting that we partnered with Métier, the London-based leather-goods house, on a collection of timeless essentials for work, travel, and everything in between. Hand-made by Italian artisans in rich variations of our signature colors, the heirloom-worthy companion pieces were meticulously conceived to be as elegant as they are efficient. Here’s to staying organized in style.
Chez Dede Neckerchiefs
In collaboration with Chez Dede, one of Rome’s most stylish, inimitable boutiques, AIR MAIL is delighted to present a trio of scarves crafted from 100 percent cotton in Como, Italy. Featuring Andrea Ferolla’s illustrations of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Henry Moore as children, the whimsical accessories can be worn in a multitude of ways. Tie one on!
Stubbs & Wootton
For our first collaboration in the realm of accessories, AIR MAIL has teamed up with Stubbs & Wootton on a limited-edition capsule collection of velvet slippers that are just the thing to make lockdown life a bit more bearable. Both styles incorporate AIR MAIL’s signature DC-3. The more maximalist Hughes, named after the eccentric aviation pioneer and entertainment mogul, features an oversize gilt airplane, while the plucky Earhart, an homage to the first female aviator to cross the Atlantic, features a pared-down version of our logo. Each slipper is available in burgundy, navy, hunter, and black velvet.
Alex Mill
Say hello to the perfect complement for your Saturday-morning delivery of AIR MAIL. (Or any other morning of the week, if we’re being totally honest.) These limited-edition AIR MAIL x Alex Mill pajamas are made from 100 percent supersoft cotton and feature a custom stripe inspired by our distinctive logo. The shirt is designed with real-shell buttons, three pockets, and elegant white piping. The pants and shorts, meanwhile, have side and back pockets—we do love pockets!—as well as an elastic waistband, drawstring, and white-cotton piping.
Anderson & Sheppard
Designed by Graydon Carter in New York and beautifully handmade in Italy, this limited-edition Work Jacket marks a transatlantic partnership for the ages. The deep-blue garment is crafted from the highest-quality, 100-percent-wool, 12-ounce worsted English flannel, which was selected by Carter for its luxurious finish, versatility, and longevity. Aesthetes will delightedly note the discreet stitching, genuine buffalo-horn buttons, custom AIR MAIL tape, and a distinctive, woven interior-pocket label. If you must go to the office, at least you can do so in complete comfort and style.
Kule
Like the partnership between Kule and AIR MAIL, this unisex bag is delightfully unexpected but exactly what you need. The stylishly oversize piece won’t go unnoticed: its sustainable, heavy-duty cotton canvas is emboldened with an original illustration by artist Donald Robertson. We’re thrilled to donate a portion of all sales to Elephant Family, a nonprofit committed to protecting Asia’s magnificent wildlife.
