We feel that there are better restaurants in Mexico Citythan the much-talked-about Italian spot Rosetta—why eat pasta in the country that invented tacos?—but a sister bakery, just a few steps away in the city’s Roma neighborhood, is not to be missed. We suggest going early and pairing a guava pastry, a cardamom bun, and a traditional concha—yes, you’ll need one of each—with a strong espresso or two. It’s always a scene, with expats and hipsters standing on the sidewalk out front. But Mexico City likes to wake up late—go early, and you’ll have the place to yourself. —Julia Vitale
