Timing was surreptitious for the Nine Orchard Hotel, which opened in 2022 in the restored Jarmulowsky Bank just after its neighborhood of Dimes Square experienced a full-on revival. From the outside, the hotel looks every bit like the Lower East Side landmark built in 1912; the inside, meanwhile, boasts 113 minimalist, elegantly designed rooms, many of which have beautiful views facing north onto the city’s midtown skyline or south toward Battery Park; food (from room service to the excellent Corner Bar restaurant to the swanky Swan Room lounge) by Estela chef Ignacio Mattos; and a gorgeous rooftop. —Julia Vitale
