Langosteria Bistrot

The dining room at Langosteria Bistrot.

Via Privata Bobbio, 2, 20144 Milano MI, Italy

It seems like everyone is talking about, and dining at, Langosteria, the seafood empire that started in Milan and has begun to take the toniest destinations in Europe (Paris, Portofino, Saint-Moritz) by storm. There are a few locations in Milan, but my favorite is the Langosteria Bistrot on Via Privata Bobbio 2. It’s conveniently located near the headquarters of some of fashion’s biggest brands, as well as the MUDEC museum, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a power lunch or a civilized meal after an exhibition. The fish is fresh and fantastic, yes, but I always come back for the interiors. The lighting is both moody and inviting, and in part of the restaurant, miniature hot-air balloons are suspended from the ceiling for a whimsical touch. The menu also features lovely illustrations by Elisa Macellari. If you’re in Milan and like fish, it’s a must-visit. —Michael Pescuma
