The inevitable question arises: what to do for dinner? My inevitable answer: how about Borgo? I cannot name a time when I wasn’t in the mood for their fava and greens, vitello tonnato, and whichever pasta special they were serving that night. (Recently, a rigatoni alla gricia ordered with some AIR MAIL editors all but vanished as soon as it hit the table.) The sure-footed menu changes ever so slightly with each visit, just enough to nudge you toward a glass of pigato or an in-season squash you’ve never tried. The main dining room hums, but the back garden is a quieter oasis among the giants of lower Park Avenue. Make hay while the fall weather holds. —Victoria Herman
