Commenting on his art form, the British photographer Tim Walker has said, “You should be able to take anyone, whether it’s an 80-year-old or an 8-year-old—and find the special something that makes him or her unique.” Walker has been doing just that for 25 years, turning out portraits and fashion spreads of rich visual drama and daring whimsy. This exhibition, the largest ever on Walker, celebrates his through-the-looking-glass imagination. —J.V.
Meanwhile, the first private gallery exhibition of Tim Walker’s photography is on at London’s Michael Hoppen Gallery through January 25.
