Mary Quant

Aug 27, 2020 – Jan 17, 2021
1 Riverside Esplanade, Dundee DD1 4EZ, United Kingdom

Out with stuffy corsets, in with hot pants and mini skirts. The first international retrospective on designer Mary Quant, who transformed British fashion in the Swinging Sixties, travels from the V&A in London, where it opened in the spring of 2019. The exhibition illuminates England’s visionary of mod through clothing, accessories, cosmetics, sketches, and photographs. “The whole point of fashion,” Quant famously remarked, “is to make fashionable clothes available to everyone.” —J.V.
