Growing up in the 1970s in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, it didn’t take Derrick Santini long to discover an undying passion for cameras. When he was 13, he took his mother’s old Agfa and began documenting individuals, objects, and landscapes—the slices of life and “moments in between” that he believes are representative of the human condition—and at 18 he moved to London to study photography and communication. Over the last three decades Santini has photographed the city’s creative people, from Judi Dench to Billy Childish. These portraits are now on view. —Elena Clavarino
