“The greatest movies resonate most deeply when we can surrender ourselves to their enormous image and roaring sound,” reads the bill for the Paris Theater’s newest series, “BIG & LOUD.” Its claim rings especially true in light of the recent coronavirus pandemic, which ushered in a period of moviegoing that moves no further than one’s own couch. Boasting the largest Dolby Atmos cinema in Manhattan—which means a visually stunning and sonically unmatched experience—“BIG & LOUD” features a mix of 70-mm. restorations of classic works, plus a selection of other films that will sound amazing in Atmos audio. The roster includes 2001: A Space Odyssey, Top Gun, and Lawrence of Arabia, as well as Apocalypse Now: Final Cut, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Matrix. Take your pick. —Jack Sullivan
