A View From The Bridge

Dominic West stars as Eddie Carbone in A View From the Bridge.

18 Suffolk St, London SW1Y 4HT, United Kingdom

When the Theatre Royal Bath announced its production of A View from the Bridge, starring Dominic West, tickets sold out in an hour. The show, which ran for a month earlier this year, now moves to London’s West End. West, who has starred in The Wire and The Crown, reprises the role of Eddie Carbone, the Italian-American protagonist of Arthur Miller’s 1955 play. A longshoreman in Brooklyn, Eddie has raised his orphaned niece, Catherine, as his own daughter. Overprotective, he’s also become increasingly attracted to Catherine, who will soon turn 18. Eddie learns that two of his wife’s Italian cousins have immigrated to New York, and he agrees to house them; but when one of the cousins falls for Catherine, Eddie grows desperate. Lindsay Posner directs this story of passion that cannot be contained. —Jeanne Malle
