Like his landmark apothecary, C. O. Bigelow, in Greenwich Village, Ian Ginsberg is something of a neighborhood fixture—and for good reason. Family-operated since the late 1930s, the cozy-storefront company founded in 1838 has, thanks to Ginsberg, gained a winning global reputation for its eponymous line of high-end beauty products. But it may be his commitment to first-rate service and a selection of difficult-to-find heritage brands from around the world that keeps his loyal patrons—film stars, retirees, local workers, young families—returning with religious dedication. Herewith, the ever stylish Ginsberg offers AIR MAIL a look at his current must-haves
Rosa Park is the type of friend whom you always want to consult before traveling anywhere on her radar. Which is largely why Park—co-founder and editor of Cereal magazine and director of Francis, a gallery in Bath, England—has found such a devoted following for her collection of guidebooks to major metropolises, including London, Paris, and New York. Having recently welcomed a baby boy, Turner, and moved from the U.K. to L.A., where she’s opening a second location of Francis, the design-lover, on the eve of publishing two new Cereal guidebooks, says, “Well-being and comfort are at the forefront of my mind. My selections reflect that”

“The art world is alive and kicking,” says independent curator and artistic director Roya Sachs of her robust fall agenda. The uptick in engagements means Sachs, a London-based AIR MAIL Editor at Large, finds herself returning to her staple classics, such as “a black Khaite number for day-to-play scenarios, paired with a looping sculptural necklace by Alex Eagle.” Meanwhile, she’s discovered that an analog 1980s Polaroid camera makes the “perfect dinner companion for drinks and openings with old and new faces,” while Peter Brook’s book The Empty Space keeps her company for the moments in between. Herewith, she shares “my go-tos to get me through the next two weeks”
