What are you wearing?

I get asked what one should wear, usually with some degree of urgency (more than feels reasonable). To dinner, to a wedding, to a work event, to something vaguely described as “drinks.” The subtext is always the same: what’s appropriate and what they can get away with. So I made it simple.
