A singular creative force, Michèle Lamy is as known for her partnership with her husband, fashion designer Rick Owens, as she is for her distinctive personal style, defined by gold teeth and henna-covered fingers, a ring from her Hunrod jewelry collection on each one. Lamy is a co-founder and the managing director of art and furniture at Owenscorp. Born in France, she studied philosophy and practiced law before moving to Los Angeles in 1979, where she ran the influential restaurant Les Deux Cafes and had her own clothing line, Lamy. She hired Owens as a pattern-maker, and the pair relocated to Paris in 2003 to grow the world of Rick Owens. Lamy presides over Lamyland, an umbrella entity for her independent creative projects, and records with her band Lavascar. Here, a few things that catch her enigmatic eye.
