When hotelier Jeff Klein opened The Tower Bar, the dimly-lit, wood-paneled restaurant inside the Sunset Tower Hotel, he told Sherry Lansing, the actress-turned-Paramount-C.E.O., “I want the establishment, the people who have been around a long time.” For 15 years, the who’s who of Hollywood has convened at Tower Bar for chopped salads and martinis. It’s where Rupert Murdoch announced his engagement to Jerry Hall, and where Tom Ford has his own table, which, per his request, has no overhead lighting. The last time I went, I ate a delicious shrimp cocktail and saw Jeff Bezos.
