Marchesi 1824

Via Monte Napoleone, 9, 20121 Milano MI, Italy

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Milan. You can always get a table if you call first thing in the morning (we recommend calling ahead during fashion week) and it offers one of the best menus in town—for choice and value. The perfect lunch fare includes a salmon-and-avocado salad, an artichokes-and-parmesan salad, couscous with vegetables, and some of the best Milanesi (breaded veal cutlets) in town, which are served with spinach—just what you want to make you feel better about eating them. The finishing touch comes in the form of one of the best plum cakes ever. —Isabelle Harvie Watt
