Stones Touring Party

Few rock-and-roll enthusiasts would pass up the opportunity to spend a night on the road with their favorite band. To spend an entire tour alongside a group as they perform, travel, and party is an entirely different ballgame. Perhaps that’s why films such as Almost Famous, The Doors, Netflix’s recent The Dirt, and even This is Spinal Tap are so beloved by fans of the genre: they allow one to peer into the tour-life fish tank without having to leave the couch. Replacing the cinematic with the auditory, Stones Touring Party, a new iHeartRadio podcast, offers a parallel experience to the above films. Armed with over 60 hours of first-hand interviews with members of the Rolling Stones during their 1972 tour, music journalist Robert Greenfield and co-host Gary Stromberg present the ultimate at-home rocker blowout. The two promise “an all access pass to the wildest tour in rock history,” notably including but not limited to “drug busts, bombs, death threats, and debauchery.” —Jack Sullivan
