Telescreens is one of the hottest bands coming out of New York City. I’ve seen them live several times now. They have an upbeat, Strokes-esque sound that whips the crowd into a frenzy whenever they take the stage. Whether it’s their most popular song, “Phonebooth,” or “Lost,” or any of their other tunes, I’ve almost never seen the crowd still. The band released a live album this year—Telescreens at Irving Plaza (Live)—and it’s a nice opportunity to hear songs from all of their different records in one place. The only better chance you’ll have is at Webster Hall. —Henry McGrath
