Joan Rivers: A Dead Funny All-Star Tribute

Joan Rivers, 1990.

“Don’t feel bad if you recognize the name but not the face. I just got this one two weeks ago!” This is just one of 70,000 jokes that Joan Rivers wrote in her decades-long career. Rivers was “a feminist trailblazer, Jewish icon, and fashion’s acid-tongued demon princess,” says comedian Patton Oswalt. In honor of the 10th anniversary of her death, and in support of Joan’s favorite charity God’s Love We Deliver, watch Tiffany Haddish, Nikki Glaser, Rachel Brosnahan, Patton Oswalt, Jeff Ross, Chelsea Handler, Aubrey Plaza, and Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers, among others, pay tribute to the Queen of Comedy. Rachel Brosnahan reads a minute’s worth of Joan’s vagina jokes, Jeff Ross plays ‘fashion police’ for present-day red carpet outfits, and Melissa Rivers delivers some instructions from beyond the grave: “Dear Melissa, if you are reading this, I am dead. And given that I am dead, I assume someone will finally decide to honor me.” —Alexandra Lemer
