Apple TV’s adaptation of Edith Wharton’s final novel is back for its second season, and with some exciting new faces in the mix. Leighton Meester (of Gossip Girl fame) joins the cast as the long-lost aunt of the St. George sisters, and her agenda is as mysterious as her backstory. Nan is reeling from events at the end of Season One, and still stuck in a highly inconvenient and complicated love triangle between the Duke of Tintagel and his dapper best friend, Guy Thwarte, who has fled with Jinny and her newborn child to Italy to escape the clutches of her psychotic husband, Lord James Seadown. Scandalous ball gowns, illicit affairs, and dramatic confessions abound to the tune of Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe.” —Paulina Prosnitz
