If you’re mad for books in all their beauty, you know the name Peter Harrington. For over 50 years, the London-based firm has sold the finest first editions, signed and inscribed books, rare manuscripts, fine bindings, and library sets. At this year’s Treasure House Fair, Peter Harrington offers some particularly fascinating rarities. For instance, just as the Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen has wowed the world with her recent performances of Isolde in Wagner’s opera, Peter Harrington offers Salvador Dalí’s lavishly illustrated Tristan & Iseult, with signed etchings. Henry Moore’s Shelter-Sketch Book, which documented Londoners during the Blitz, is here, as well as an illuminated manuscript of Tennyson’s Morte d’Arthur, lavishly gilded (“take Excalibur, / And fling him far into the middle mere: / Watch what thous seëst, and lightly bring me word”). —Laura Jacobs
