Discussing his most powerful installation to date, Patrick Staff says, “Venus the planet is considered a sister planet to earth that is completely inhospitable.” A LGBTQ+ advocate and trans artist, Staff uses Venus as a metaphor to evoke uncertainty—the space between living and not living that’s often inhabited by people on the fringes of society’s norms.
